The 2024 annual meeting was held on June 29 in Lansing, Michigan. Attendance was the highest in the history of the club - 75 people.
Following the meeting, there was be a field trip to Meridian Baseline State Park, led by EMC member Brian Reynolds. Meridian Baseline, a unique and beautiful park – preserved for its historic value – designates the spot where all township, range and section measurements begin for the entire state.
Annual meetings have been held each summer since 1973. (The only exception was the 2020 meeting - scheduled for Tulsa, Oklahoma - that was canceled due to Covid-19).
Annual meetings generally last about 2 hours. Do people drive across the country for a 2 hour meeting? Yes, we do! We are Extra Milers!

Most annual meetings are followed by a field trip to some interesting nearby geographical point. It may be a special county line, a state tri-point, or some other unique geographical place. Some field trips are structured, while others are more individual. The field trip after each meeting usually lasts about 2 hours.
